The Quality Management Specialist (also referred to as the Privacy Officer or P.O.) of Adventure Capitalism (herein referred to as the company, A.C. or it) shall be the designated individual who is accountable for the organization's compliance with the following principles and shall make every reasonable attempt within his knowledge and authority to be responsible for personal information under its control, unless another individual is delegated to operate on the P.O.'s behalf..
Adventure Capitalism is committed to protecting the privacy and security of its client's information obtained by reason of its customer relationships. This policy explains the types of customer personal information it collects, how it is used, and the steps it takes to ensure private personal information is managed appropriately.
These policies and procedures have been designed to comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What is Personal Information?
Personal Information is information that refers to an identifiable individual specifically and is recorded in any form of media. Personal Information includes such things as age, income, date of birth, ethnic origin, credit and financial information. Information about individuals contained herein that is not considered personal is:
i) Public telephone directories where the subscriber can refuse to be listed
ii) Professional and business directories available to the public
iii) Certain public registries and court records
iv) Any other publicly available media publication
Our commitment to your privacy is governed by the following principles:
1) A.C. is responsible for personal information under its control including transfer of information to third parties, processing, storage or other purposes.
2) A.C. identifies the purpose for which your personal information is collected.
3) We will obtain your consent to collect, use or disclose personal information, except where justified for the purpose of collection of overdue accounts as identified in PIPEDA section 3(b).
4) A.C. collects only the information required to provide products and services to you. This includes such things as direct communication, collection of accounts, providing or recommending products and services A.C. believes will be of interest and provide value to you, and to comply with legal and government requirements. We also send your name & email address to Klemmer & Associates for the purpose of the free newsletter included in the purchase of the ebooks.
5) A.C. uses and discloses your personal information for its own uses, and does not rent or sell personal information to any organization or person for any reason (with the exception of (4) above. If personal information is shared with third parties, A.C. shall use contractual or other means to provide a comparable level of protection while the information is being processed by them. Your information is retained for the duration of our business relationship or is required by federal and provincial law.
6) A.C. will make every reasonable attempt to keep your personal information up to date, accurate and relevant for its intended use. You may request access to the personal information we have on record (of you) in order to amend or review the information, as appropriate, or to terminate services provided by A.C. In the event where your personal information was provided by a third party (ie. credit bureaus), we will refer you to that party. To access your information, use the contact information provided above. Exceptions to access to information may include information that is prohibitively costly to provide, information that contains references to other individuals, information that cannot be disclosed for legal, security, or commercial proprietary reasons, and information that is subject to solicitor-client or litigation privilege or procedures. All requests for information shall be made in writing to the address below, and proof of identification may be required.
7) The privacy of your personal information is important to us. In order to ensure its security, we have taken the following steps:
> Physical security measures such as restricted access facilities.
> Electronic security measures for computerized personal information such as password protection, hardware and/or software security.
> Organizational processes such as limiting access to your personal information to a select group of individuals.
> Contractual obligations with third parties who require access to your personal information.
8) Adventure Capitalism responds in a timely manner to your questions, concerns and complaints about the privacy of your personal information and our privacy policies. All requests for information changes shall be made in writing to the address below, and proof of identification may be required. If a complaint is found to be justified, A.C. will take appropriate measures, including, if necessary, amending its policies and practices.
